Stomach contents of the Lesser Spotted Dogfish, (Scyliorhinus canicula (Linnaeus, 1758)) inhabiting Northeastern MediterraneanBaşusta, Nuriİfakat Özca, EbruBalıkçılıkIn this study, stomach contents of 604 specimens of Scyliorhinus canicula (Linnaeus, 1758) obtained from the Northeastern Mediterranean between May 2012- March 2014 were examined to determine diet regime. 482 of the sampled fish (79.8%) had stomachs containing food. For each prey group, percentage numerical presence, percentage weight, frequency of occurrence and relative importance index (% IRI) values were calculated. The most important prey groups for S. canicula living in the Northeastern Mediterranean were Crustaceans and fishes (with IRI= 50.08% and IRI = 46.7% respectively).
