- MakaleAçık Erişim2026Mapping the Evolution of Interior Architecture and Interior Design: A VOSviewer-Based Bibliometric Analysis
Ay, Ilhami; Dal, Murat; Bekler, Sema; Bekler, Baris
This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to explore the academic evolution of interior architecture and interior design literature from 1975 to 2024 using the Web of Science (WoS) database. A total of 3,695 articles were analyzed through VOSviewer software to visualize and interpret research trends, citation networks, co-authorship clusters, and thematic keyword occurrences. The findings indicate a steady growth in publications, particularly after 2006, coinciding with the increasing emphasis on digitalization and sustainability in design. Prominent research themes include biophilic design, adaptive reuse, and the psychological effects of color and space. The dominance of English-language publications is evident, though contributions in Turkish, French, and Spanish are also recognized. Citation analyses identify influential studies that link technical developments with social and psychological perspectives in design. Thematic clustering highlights the interdisciplinary expansion of the field, integrating insights from environmental psychology, ergonomics, and emerging digital technologies such as virtual and augmented reality. This study contributes to the literature by offering a clear roadmap for future research, promoting international collaboration, and strengthening the link between academic inquiry and design practice.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2025Bibliometric Analysis of The Relationships Between Glass, Buildings and Radiation: A VOSviewer Examination of Web of Science Data
Dal, Murat; Ay, İlhami; Bekler, Sema; Bekler, Barış
This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of academic works obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database using the keywords "radiation," "glass," and "building." Utilizing the VOSviewer software, the study identifies the distribution of these articles by year, language, publication type, and the most influential authors, countries, institutions, and sources. Based on data from 913 articles, the keyword analysis reveals the most commonly used concepts in the field and the relationships between them. The evolution of these key terms over time is also examined. According to the analysis, "solar radiation", "window", and "glass" emerged as the most frequently used terms, closely related to topics such as energy efficiency, thermal performance, and natural ventilation. This research highlights the development of academic literature focused on the relationships between radiation, glass, and buildings and identifies the key research trends in this domain. The findings suggest a growing interest in scientific research on energy efficiency and building materials.
