- MakaleAçık Erişim2018Scopus SJRQ3A fuzzy dematel model proposal for the cause and effect of the fault occurring in the auxiliary systems of the ships' main engine
Balin, A.; Demirel, H.; Celik, E.; Alarcin, F.
The ship engine room has a structure that meets a number of needs related to administrative conditions. Even if a simple mechanical error is considered to be the addition of human errors into the complex structure of the engine room, it can lead to undetected loss. How the causes and effects of the detected faults affect the system is as important as an effective fault detection system to detect the fault and take immediate action against any possible engine failure. This study reveals the causes of problems occurring in the main engine auxiliary systems including cooling, lubricating, cooling oil and fuel systems, and the extent of these problems affecting the system. While the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory supports to identify and analyze the error detection of auxiliary systems with respect to causal effect relation diagram, fuzzy sets deal with the uncertainty in decision-making and human judgements through the DEMATEL. Therefore, fuzzy DEMATEL approach is applied to examine the causes and the weights of the faults and their relation to each other in the auxiliary systems. When we look at the result of the proposed approach, fuel oil pump failures has more impact on the all system and air cooler problems has the second highest place among the all errors.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2018Scopus SJRQ3Novel features of the nonlinear model arising in nano-ionic currents throughout microtubules
Celik, E.; Bulut, H.; Baskonus, H.M.
In this manuscript, the modified exp (-Ω(ξ))-expansion function method is implemented to find the new solutions to the nonlinear differential equation being the transmission line model. We obtain some new solutions to this model such as complex, exponential, trigonometric and hyperbolic functions. We plot the two- and three-dimensional surfaces of each solutions obtained in this manuscript.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2016Scopus SJRQ2An extended fuzzy TOPSIS-GRA method based on different separation measures for green logistics service provider selection
Celik, E.; Erdogan, M.; Gumus, A. T.
In this paper, first, the criteria that make logistics service providers more green'' are determined as: cooperation with customer's company and its customer, green government regulations, environmental management system, green process design, reduction in energy consumption and green network design. The criteria weights are determined by fuzzy AHP, based on expert opinions. Then, a new method is proposed, which is the combination of fuzzy TOPSIS and GRA, and used to evaluate green 3PLs based on different separation measures, as an extension, using trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. Five Turkish 3PLs serve in Istanbul are selected in order to apply a case study to show the applicability of the proposed method. Finally, the proposed method is verified with respect to different resolving coefficient values and separation measures and also compared with fuzzy TOPSIS and fuzzy VIKOR method results. Different multi-criteria decision-making methods can be applied and compared to check validity of our results for future studies. The proposed method can also be implemented to 3PLs in other countries.

- MakaleYalnız künye2016Scopus SJRQ2Application of interval type-2 fuzzy sets DEMATEL methods in maritime transportation: The case of ship collision
Celik, E.; Akyuz, E.
Accident analyse in marine industry is one of the critical issues for safety practitioners to prevent loss of life. Although considerable efforts were undertaken to prevent marine accident, numerous researches revealed that marine accidents are still on-going. In order to minimize accidents in the marine transportation, this paper presents a proactive decisionmaking tool which is integrating Decision-Making Trail and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method with interval type-2 fuzzy sets (IT2FSs). As the DEMATEL enables to analyse cause and effect relationship in decision-making, the IT2FSs overcome ambiguity and vagueness of linguistic assessment of decision-makers through the DEMATEL. Thus, significant accident causal factors and their effects can be analysed on the basis of cause-effect diagram. The application of proposed approach is demonstrated with a real ship collision case. Beside its theoretical contribution, the proposed approach provides practical benefits to ship owners and operators to perceive cause and effect relationship and to avoid marine accident.
