Hedenäs, previously known only from Çanakkale, and the arctic-alpine moss Cyrtomnium hymenophylloides (Hübener) T.J.Kop., previously known only from Ordu province, were rediscovered in Türkiye. Scorpidium cossonii was collected on wet rocky bank near the Ciğer Lake (Çan-Çanakkale) in 2014. Cyrtomnium hymenophylloides was collected on wet soil in Kalıcak and Kadıncık Villages (Ulubey-Ordu) in 2014. Ten years later, both species were found the vicinity of Karagöl and Çiniligöl (Ulukışla-Niğde), glacial lakes located in the Central Anatolian part of the Bolkar Mountains. Scorpidium cossonii and Cyrtomnium hymenophylloides were recorded for the second time from Türkiye and Southwest Asia with the present study. While, Scorpidium cossonii is characterised by strongly curved non-plicate leaves and well developed hyalodermis, Cyrtomnium hymenophylloides is characterised erect tuft life form, broadly ovate leaves, acute to apiculate leaf apices. These new locality records will provide important information about the geographical distribution of the both species in Anatolia and will contribute to the bryophyte flora of Türkiye. Hymenoloma mulahaceni and Mnium blyttii found as new to Turkey following a recent bryological excursion to the Bolkar Mountains (Taurus Mountain range) in Turkey. Also, this is the first record of the Mnium blyttii from Southwest Asia. Illustrations, geographic distributions, ecological characteristics, identification keys and comparisons with morphologically similar taxa are given.

İncele - MakaleAçık Erişim2022The Bryophyte Flora of Ermenek Valley (Karaman, Mersin-Turkey)
Alataş, Mevlüt; Karaman, Seher; Uygur, Ahmet; Ezer, Tülay
In this study, the bryophyte flora of Ermenek Valley (Karaman, Mersin) was investigated. In a total 163 taxa belonging to 27 families and 64 genera were determined by identifying the bryophyte specimens collected from 33 stations at different habitats and different vegetation periods between the years 2019 and 2020. Marchantiophyta, 10 taxa belonging to 8 families and 10 genera, Bryophyta, 153 taxa belonging to 19 families and 54 genera are represented. Among them, 39 taxa are new records for C12 grid square and, also Fissidens gymnandrus is recorded for the second time from Turkey. While Pottiaceae (44 taxa) and Brachytheciaceae (26 taxa) two largest families in the study area, Ptychostomum (11 taxa), Syntrichia and Grimmia (10 taxa) are the most species rich genera. Taxa in the floristic list, along with ecological characteristics and life forms were given.

Alataş, Mevlüt; Uygur, Ahmet; Ezer, Tülay
In this study, as a result of the identification of bryophyte specimens collected from different localities and habitats of Antalya, Karaman, Konya and Mersin provinces, 118 taxa (6 liverworts, 112 mosses) belonging to 24 families and 53 genera were determined. Among them, 5 taxa are new records for C12 according to the Turkey bryophytes grid-square system of Henderson. Furthermore, 6 species are new for Antalya Province, 19 species are new for Konya Province and 8 species are new for Mersin Province. While Pottiaceae (33 taxa), Brachytheciaceae (17 taxa), Bryaceae (11 taxa) and Grimmiaceae (11 taxa) are the largest families in terms of number of taxa, Syntrichia (10 taxa), Ptychostomum (7 taxa), Fissidens (7 taxa) and Didymodon (7 taxa) are the most species-rich genera.
