Özet

This study aims to uncover the discourse types and their directional framing of fake news shared on social media in Turkey, and how these influence social perception. The analysis is based on fake war-related content assessed by the Turkish factchecking platforms Teyit and Accuracy Share. The collected data is categorised into themes focusing on perception management. Each theme’s content was examined through the lens of Multimodal Critical Discourse Analysis (MCDA) and Teun van Dijk’s ideological discourse approach. This approach provides insight into the construction of war narratives through fake news, detailing how war is depicted within these discourses in Turkey.
