Üniversite öğrencilerinin namus algısı: Munzur Üniversitesi, sosyoloji bölümü, lisans öğrencileri örneği

Namus, kavram olarak "insanlar tarafından oluşturulmuş toplumsal kurallar" temel anlamını taşımaktadır. Ancak söz konusu kavram zamanla, ilk ve temel anlamından sıyrılarak farklı anlamlar kazanmıştır. Tarihsel açıdan yaşanan değişimler ve dönüşümlerin, toplumsal yaşamda da söz konusu olmasıyla birlikte namus olgusu zamanla; cinsiyetler arası ayrımcılığa sebep olan, şiddet temelli bir olgu halini almıştır. Olgunun bu niteliğinin devamında, namus gerekçesi ile işlenen suçlar gün geçtikçe artış göstermiştir ve göstermeye devam etmektedir. Geleneksel toplum yapısından modern bir toplum yapısına geçişin, hayatın hemen her alanında kendisini hissettirdiği yeni dönemde bile kadınlar; namus olarak nitelendirilen toplumsal nitelikteki normları ihlal ettikleri gerekçesi ile şiddete maruz kalmaktalardır. Dünyanın farklı bölgelerinde, farklı terimler ile karşılık bulsa da "namus" olgusu dünyanın her yerinde; kadın yaşamına yönelik bir tehdit unsuru niteliğindedir. Modernite ile birlikte toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin silikleşmesi durumu söz konusu olsa da kadın yaşamı hâlâ; denetlenmesi ve "gerektiğinde" kısıtlanması gereken bir alan olarak görülmektedir. Bu unsurlar, tezin araştırma konusu olarak "namus" olgusunun seçilmesindeki temel gerekçelerdir. Araştırma konusunun güncelde bir sorun niteliği taşıyor olması ve acil çözüm gerektiren bir konumda yer alması; bu tezin en önemli problemlerindendir. Bu doğrultuda bu araştırmada, üniversite öğrencilerinin namus algıları araştırılmakta ve onların algılarında etkili olan faktörler incelenmektedir. Toplumsal cinsiyet bağlamında incelenen namus olgusuna yönelik, üniversite öğrencilerinin algılarını ortaya çıkarmak amacıyla, literatür taraması ve niteliksel yöntem doğrultusunda gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan "Nitel Araştırma Görüşme Formu" kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Munzur Üniversitesi, sosyoloji bölümü, lisans öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Toplamda 21 öğrenci ile yarı-yapılandırılmış derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Örneklem grubu, kartopu örneklem tekniği ile oluşturulmuştur. Saha araştırması sonucunda elde edilen veriler el ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde "betimsel analiz" yolu kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, öğrencilerin namus algıları ile ilgili çeşitli verilere ulaşılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda üniversite öğrencilerinin namus algılarının çeşitli etkenlere göre değişkenlik gösterdiği ve öğrencilerin namus algılarının genel olarak eşitlikçi yönde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmanın öne çıkan sonuçlarından biri de; tamamına yakını Doğu ve Güneydoğu'da yaşayan katılımcıların büyük bir kısmının, namus ve namus gerekçesiyle işlenen töre cinayetlerine şahit olmadıkları ve yine tamamına yakınının ailelerinde "töre"nin geçerliliğinin olmadığı sonucudur. The concept of honor, which is rooted in the word "nomos", has the basic meaning of "social rules created by people". However, over time, the concept has gained different meanings by getting rid of its first and basic meaning. Historical changes and transformations are also involved in social life, and the phenomenon of honor is over time; it has become a violent phenomenon that causes inter-gender discrimination. In the continuation of this quality of the phenomenon, the crimes committed on the grounds of honor have increased day by day and continue to show. Even in the new era, when the transition from traditional society structure to a modern society structure makes itself felt in almost every aspect of life, women; they are subjected to violence on the grounds that they violate the norms of a social nature that are considered honor. Although it is corresponding in different terms in different parts of the world, the phenomenon of "honor" is all over the world; it is a threat to women's life. Although there is a situation of the fainting of gender roles with modernity, women's life is still; it is seen as an area that should be inspected and restricted "when necessary". These elements are the main reasons for selecting the phenomenon of "honor" as the research subject of the thesis. The fact that the research subject is a problem in the present and is in a position to require an urgent solution; this is one of the most important problems of the thesis. Accordingly, in this research, the perceptions of honor of university students are investigated and the factors that are effective in their perceptions are examined. In order to reveal the perceptions of university students regarding the phenomenon of honor examined in the context of gender, the "Qualitative Research Interview Form" created by the researcher was used as a data collection tool in this research carried out in line with literature review and qualitative method. The sample of the research is made up of Munzur University, department of sociology, undergraduate students. In total, 21 students had semi-structured in-depth interviews. The sample group was created with snowball sampling technique. The data obtained as a result of the field research were analyzed manually. "Content analysis" path was used in the analysis of the data. In this study, various data about students' perceptions of honor were obtained. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the perceptions of honor of university students vary according to various factors and that the perceptions of honor of the students are generally egalitarian. It is the conclusion that the majority of the participants, nearly all of whom live in the East and Southeast, did not witness the ritual killings committed on the grounds of honor and honor, and that "customs" did not apply to the families of nearly all of them.
