- MakaleYalnız künye2022ESSENTIAL OIL COMPOSITION OF ENDEMIC Hypericum ekerii FROM TURKEY AND CHEMOTAXONOMIC COMPARISONS
Yuce-Babacan, Ebru; Demirpolat, Azize
In our study, chemotaxonomic comparisons and essential oil composition of Hypericum ekeriNtice&Aytac (Hypericaceae) endemic to Turkey was studied for the first time. The composition of the essential oils of Hypericum ekerii was investigated and 45compounds were determined in total. GC and GC-MS analysis result showed a-pinene 18.73%, limonene 7.28%, caryophyllene oxide 6.71% and b-caryophyllene 6.47% as the majorcomponents. Based on the major chemical components, clusterinvestigated was applied for all the Hypericum species on Drosanthesection studied. With H. ekerii and all Drosanthesection species were grouped based on the presence of a specific compound and a dendrogram was created, and this section grouped the species into clusters. The chemical distribution of essential oil compounds in the genus pattern were discussed in means of natural products, major components and chemotaxonomy.

Babacan, Ebru Yuce; Aytaç, Zeki; Pinar, Munevver
Hypericum ekerii Yuce & Aytac sp. nov. (Hypericaceae) is described and illustrated from Duzgun Baba Mountain in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. The new taxon grows on volcanic rocks in Tunceli Province. It is closely related to H. capitatum Choisy s.l. an Irano-Turanian element of Anatolia. Diagnostic morphological characters were discussed. The pollen characters of threetaxa were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

- MakaleAçık Erişim2012Scopus SJRQ3The essential oils of the aerial parts of two Hypericum taxa (Hypericum triquetrifolium and Hypericum aviculariifolium subsp depilatum var. depilatum (Clusiaceae)) from Turkey
Yuce, Ebru; Bagci, Eyup
In this study, essential oil compositions of two Hypericum L. taxa (Hypericum triquetrifolium Turra. and Hypericum aviculariifolium Jaub. et Spach subsp. depilatum var. depilatum (Freyn et Bornm.) Robson) naturally grown in Turkey were determined using gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry systems. The essential oils were obtained by hydrodistillation from the aerial parts of plants. A total of 45 compounds were identified in the essential oils of H. triquetrifolium; 1-hexanal (18.8%), 3-methylnonane (12.5%) and alpha-pinene (12.3%). In this study, 41 components were identified in H. aviculariifolium subsp. depilatum var. depilatum oil; alpha-pinene (52.1%), germacrene D (8.5%) and beta-pinene (3.6%) were the predominant constituents. The essential oil analysis showed that monoterpene concentrations were higher than that of the sesquiterpenes in both oils. The results were discussed in the meaning of the usefulness of these plants and their chemicals as natural products and potential usage in chemotaxonomy.
