Hasar, Ugur Cem; Buldu, Gul; Barroso, Joaquim Jose
Metamaterials (MMs) are engineered material with electromagnetic properties not commonly seen by natural materials such as negative refraction and near-zero permittivity. These materials have interesting applications ranging from perfect lens and electromagnetic cloaks to leaky-wave antennas and shifters. For such applications, electromagnetic properties of MMs are needed to be known. In this study, we propose a waveguide method for accurate electromagnetic parameter retrieval of weakly-coupled MM slabs (the wavevector is normal to the plane of the metallic inclusions). To achieve our goal, new expressions for effective permittivity and permeability as well as the magnetoelectric coupling coefficient are derived. For validation of our waveguide method, we used the simulated scattering parameters of a MM slab composed of split-ring-resonator unit cells by using a commercial 3D electromagnetic simulation program.

Social network analysis has become an important issue in recent years because of the development and use of social networks widespread. Almost any kind of data can be easily obtained as valuable information about actors from these data. In this study, general information about the most used social network analysis and visualization tools are given. The author-subject network that analyzed with the help of link estimation methods, the author-writer network showing the links between co-authors is drawn and displayed visually through four different social network analysis and visualization tools.

- BildiriYalnız künye2017A heuristic algorithm for assembly line balancing with stochastic sequence-dependent setup times
Çil, Zeynel Abidin; Mete, Süleyman; Özceylan, Eren; Diri Kenger, Zülal; Çil, Hande
Having analyzed studies on the assembly line balancing problem considering setup times, a few papers are observed. However, researches show that setup time plays an important role in total production time. Besides, in these studies, the setup times are assumed to be deterministic. Considering setup times to be deterministic decreases proximity of problem to real life application. Because the operation and setup times may vary in real applications due to human factors, machine breakdowns, lack of equipment and environmental factors. Therefore, in this study, assembly line balancing problem is investigated considering the sequence-dependent stochastic setup times. A heuristic approach based on COMSOAL is presented for the problem and it is seen that algorithm is effective for the problem.

Tümen, Vedat; Söylemez, Ömer Faruk; Ergen, Burhan
Nowadays, deep learning is a technique that takes place in many computer vision related applications and studies. While it is put in the practice mostly on content based image retrieval, there is still room for improvement by employing it in diverse computer vision applications. In this study, we aimed to build a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based Facial Expression Recognition System (FER), in order to automatically classify expressions presented in Facial Expression Recognition (FER2013) database. Our presented CNN achieved % 57.1 success rate on FER2013 database.
