A never-ending story of an identity crisis or a creative reformulation of an Alevi-mindset? What the case of Alevi youth in the German diaspora suggest today?

    Gueltekin, Ahmet Kerim

The Alevi movement, originating more than three decades ago in Turkey and the Western European diaspora, has led to significant social and cultural shifts within Alevi communities. This movement witnessed the emergence of Alevi associations, increased religio-political activities, and a fervent search for a redefined Alevi identity. The quest for a comprehensive understanding of Alevi identity remains a contested debate, prominently reflected within Alevi youth, who navigate complex socio-cultural landscapes and encounter challenges in defining their identity amidst competing narratives and associations. This paper examines the identity formation strategies of young Alevis in Berlin, drawing on ethnographic fieldwork conducted between 2021 and 2023. Contrary to mainstream portrayals of Alevi youth experiencing a loss of identity, this study argues for the presence of continuity dynamics, emphasising inherited Alevi mindsets and emotions. Through interviews and analysis of a documentary produced by Berlin Alevi youth, the paper explores new narratives about Alevi history, sociology, and theology constructed by young Alevis, highlighting their role in shaping contemporary Alevism in Germany. This research contributes original data and discussions to the existing literature on Alevi youth, shedding light on their evolving identities and the dynamics of Alevi discourse in diasporic settings.

Determining nursing students' attitudes and empathic tendencies regarding aged discrimination

    Kaplan Serin, Emine; Tuluce, Derya

Purpose This study aims determining nursing students' attitudes and empathic tendencies regarding aged discrimination Methods A descriptive or cross-sectional study was conducted, using the basic empathy scale, ageism attitude scale. Findings The findings indicate that the students have a mid-level attitude with respect to ageism. Higher levels of empathic approach indicates a downward trend in positive and negative ageism in students and an upward trend in the attitude of restricting the life of older people. The difference between living with the elderly and class and empathy, between gender and elderly attitude is significant. Practice Implications Nursing students' empathic tendencies affect attitudes towards the elderly.

Marine Fungi Against Aquaculture Pathogens and Induction of the Activity via Co-Culture

Özkaya, Ferhat Can; Peker, Zerife; Camas, Mustafa; Camas, Anil Sazak; Altunok, Muhammet

Ethyl acetate extracts from 70 strains of marine-derived fungi, isolated from sponges, were screened against four fish pathogenic bacteria. Sixteen of the fungal isolates exhibited antibacterial activity against at least one pathogen. All the strains showed antibacterial activity against Vagococcus salmoninarum. Three isolates showed strong inhibition against all test pathogens and they may therefore be remarkable as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial. Nine isolates showed antibacterial activity against Lactococcus garvieae, six were against Vibrio anguillarum, and four isolates inhibited the growth of Yersinia ruckeri. Co-culture of the fungus with the mix of the pathogen bacteria led to the induction of bioactivity in two isolates. Aspergillus iizukae produced strong and broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against pathogens with minimum inhibitory concentrations of 0.8-406 mu gmL(-1). The screening results confirmed the sponge associated fungi as a source of environmentally friendly antimicrobials that may contribute the sustainable development of aquaculture. In addition, co-culture technique is a promising strategy to increase antimicrobial activity that can stimulate the production of novel compounds, and increases the antimicrobial activities of marine derived fungi.

Effects of subchronic exposure to zinc nanoparticles on tissue accumulation, serum biochemistry, and histopathological changes in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)

Kaya, Hasan; Duysak, Muge; Akbulut, Mehmet; Yilmaz, Sevdan; Guerkan, Mert; Arslan, Zikri; Demir, Veysel; Ates, Mehmet

Zinc nanoparticles (ZnNPs) are among the least investigated NPs and thus their toxicological effects are not known. In this study, tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) were exposed to 1 and 10 mg/L suspensions of small size (SS, 40-60 nm) and large size (LS, 80-100 nm) ZnNPs for 14 days under semi-static conditions. Total Zn levels in the intestine, liver, kidney, gill, muscle tissue, and brain were measured. Blood serum glucose (GLU), glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were examined to elucidate the physiological disturbances induced by ZnNPs. Organ pathologies were examined for the gills, liver, and kidney to identify injuries associated with exposure. Significant accumulation was observed in the order of intestine, liver, kidney, and gills. Zn levels exhibited time- and concentration-dependent increase in the organs. Accumulation in kidney was also dependent on particle size; NPs SS-ZnNPs were trapped more effectively than LS-ZnNPs. No significant accumulation occurred in the brain (p>0.05) while Zn levels in muscle tissue increased only marginally (p0.05). Significant disturbances were noted in serum GOT and LDH (p<0.05). The GPT levels fluctuated and were not statistically different from those of controls (p>0.05). Histopathological tubular deformations and mononuclear cell infiltrations were observed in kidney sections. In addition, an increase in melano-macrophage aggregation intensity was identified on the 7th day in treatments exposed to LS-ZnNPs. Mononuclear cell infiltrations were identified in liver sections for all treatments. Both ZnNPs caused basal hyperplasia in gill sections. Fusions appeared in the gills after the 7th day in fish treated with 10 mg/L suspensions of SS-ZnNPs. In addition, separations in the secondary lamella epithelia were observed. The results indicated that exposure to ZnNPs could lead to disturbances in blood biochemistry and cause histopathological injuries in the tissues of O. niloticus. (c) 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Testing the human capital development model: the case of apprenticeships in Turkey

    Akpinar, Taner; Gün, Servet

Human capital theory was developed to study how individual agents make rational choices or how they invest in human capital to maximize their welfare. One of the leading founders of this perspective, Becker, argues that schooling, on-the-job training, medical care, migration and searching for information about prices and incomes are different types of human capital as all these investments improve skills, knowledge or health, thereby increasing individual welfare. He states that education and training are the most important investments in human capital. Apprenticeship training is, thus, identified and treated as a type of investment in human capital. At first glance, it seems that apprentices who are being trained are acquiring skills in a specific vocation. One would suppose that the trainees are getting knowledge and skills and that they would become masters in their profession after a long training process. However, further enquiry is needed to see if this is the case in reality. The present small-scale, exploratory study, based on 20 interviews - 10 with apprentices and 10 with their employers - aims to investigate the apprenticeship training system in Turkey. In doing so, it seeks to test the basic tenets of human capital theory against the facts discovered. The findings, if they could be generalized, suggest that the Turkish apprenticeship system is a form of child labour rather than a training process. Contrary to apprentice training being a human capital investment, the study finds that trainees do not rationally decide to enter an apprenticeship nor are they selected by a meritocratic system. All of them come from poor peasant families or low-wage working families where the most pressing need is for the child to earn money.

Cultural perceptions and clinical experiences of nursing students in Eastern Turkey

    Karatay, G.; Bowers, B.; Karadag, E. B.; Demir, M. C.

Aim: This study explored Turkish nursing students' perceptions of providing care to patients culturally different from themselves. Background: Increasing migration will increase the need for nurses to provide care across cultural groups. Methods: Twenty one students in the second year of a 4-year nursing programme participated in 3 focus groups. Data were analysed using directed content analysis. Research questions were based on Campinha-Bacote's model. Results: Three themes were identified: perceived cultural barriers, perceived cultural facilitators and identifying culturally sensitive actions. Generally, students were able to define culture but were unable to say how culture would affect nursing practice. Discussion: Students were unprepared to practice in a multicultural setting. Cultural awareness is insufficient for determining how to respond to cultural differences. Limitations: The study is limited by its restriction to a single school of nursing and a single curriculum. Conclusions: The multiple, ongoing political, religious and ethnic conflicts will require nurses to provide care to patients from other cultural groups, in some instances to people identified as adversaries to the group the nurse may represent. Understanding cultural differences is insufficient to do this effectively. Implications for nursing education: Learning culturally competent care requires opportunities to provide, be guided through and reflect on care to individuals from different cultural groups. Implications for organizational and public policies: Standards for culturally competent care should be adopted by all care delivery settings. Public and organizational policies openly declaring healthcare settings as cultural safe zones, and explicit organizational commitment to culturally safe care, would set clear expectations for providers and help ensure a positive patient experience.

Cytokine Responses in Gills of Capoeta umbla as Biomarkers of Environmental Pollution

Danabas, Durali; Yildirim, Nuran Cikcikoglu; Yildirim, Numan; Onal, Ayten Oztufekci; Uslu, Gulsad; Unlu, Erhan; Danabas, Seval; Ergin, Cemil; Tayhan, Nilgun

Immunological biomarkers reflect the effects of exposure to environmental contaminants. In this study, the suitability and sensitivity of cytokine responses, interleukin 1 beta (IL-1 beta), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) in gill tissues of Capoeta umbla (Heckel, 1843), collected from different regions, as early warning indices of environmental pollution and ecosystem health was evaluated. Fish and water samples were taken from ten stations in March and September 2011 and 2012. Tumor necrosis factor-alpha, IL-1 beta and IL-6 levels were determined in samples of the gill tissues by using an ELISA kit. Significant variations of TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta and IL-6 levels observed between stations and seasons. The results of this study show that seasonal variations of cytokine responses in gills of Capoeta umbla are sensitive to the contaminants present in Uzuncayir Dam Lake (Tunceli, Turkey) water and are valuable biomarkers for environmental pollution and ecosystem health.

Changes in the texture, physicochemical properties and volatile compound profiles of fresh Kashar cheese (<90 days) during ripening

Eroglu, Ali; Toker, Omer Said; Dogan, Mahmut

In this study, four different fresh Kashar cheese samples were ripened for 90 days. The physicochemical properties, texture attributes, fatty acid composition and volatile compound profiles of the samples were measured every 30 days of ripening. The texture properties of the cheese samples were significantly affected by the duration of the ripening period. The results of this study highlighted that texture parameters as a function of ripening period should be considered for both fresh and aged Kashar cheeses to determine the ripening period as they are very important for consumer acceptability and consumption of the end product.

Accumulation and Toxicity of CuO and ZnO Nanoparticles Through Waterborne and Dietary Exposure of Goldfish (Carassius auratus)

Ates, Mehmet; Arslan, Zikri; Demir, Veysel; Daniels, James; Farah, Ibrahim O.

Dietary and waterborne exposure to copper oxide (CuO) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs) was conducted using a simplified model of an aquatic food chain consisting of zooplankton (Artemia salina) and goldfish (Carassius auratus) to determine bioaccumulation, toxic effects, and particle transport through trophic levels. Artemia contaminated with NPs were used as food in dietary exposure. Fish were exposed to suspensions of the NPs in waterborne exposure. ICP-MS analysis showed that accumulation primarily occurred in the intestine, followed by the gills and liver. Dietary uptake was lower, but was found to be a potential pathway for transport of NPs to higher organisms. Waterborne exposure resulted in about a 10-fold higher accumulation in the intestine. The heart, brain, and muscle tissue had no significant Cu or Zn. However, concentrations in muscle increased with NP concentration, which was ascribed to bioaccumulation of Cu and Zn released from NPs. Free Cu concentration in the medium was always higher than that of Zn, indicating CuO NPs dissolved more readily. ZnO NPs were relatively benign, even in waterborne exposure (p0.05). In contrast, CuO NPs were toxic. Malondialdehyde levels in the liver and gills increased substantially (p<0.05). Despite lower Cu accumulation, the liver exhibited significant oxidative stress, which could be from chronic exposure to Cu ions. (c) 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Environ Toxicol 30: 119-128, 2015.

Evaluation of Alpha and Gamma Aluminum Oxide Nanoparticle Accumulation, Toxicity, and Depuration in Artemia salina Larvae

Ates, Mehmet; Demir, Veysel; Arslan, Zikri; Daniels, James; Farah, Ibrahim O.; Bogatu, Corneliu

In this study, Artemia salina (crustacean filter feeders) larvae were used as a test model to investigate the toxicity of aluminum oxide nanoparticles (Al2O3 NPs) on marine microorganisms. The uptake, toxicity, and elimination of -Al2O3 (50 nm and 3.5 m) and -Al2O3 (5 nm and 0.4 m) NPs were studied. Twenty-four and ninety-six hour exposures of different concentrations of Al2O3 NPs to Artemia larvae were conducted in a seawater medium. When suspended in water, Al2O3 NPs aggregated substantially with the sizes ranging from 6.3 nm to >0.3 mu m for spherical NPs and from 250 to 756 nm for rod-shaped NPs. The phase contrast microscope images showed that NPs deposited inside the guts as aggregates. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry analysis showed that large particles (3.5 m -Al2O3) were not taken up by Artemia, whereas fine NPs (0.4 m -Al2O3) and ultra-fine NPs (5 nm -Al2O3 and 50 nm -Al2O3) accumulated substantially. Differences in toxicity were detected as changing with NP size and morphology. The malondialdehyde levels indicated that smaller -Al2O3 (5 nm) NPs were more toxic than larger -Al2O3 (0.4 mu m) particulates in 96 h. The highest mortality was measured as 34% in 96 h for -Al2O3 NPs (5 nm) at 100 mg/L (LC50 > 100 mg/L). -Al2O3 NPs were more toxic than -Al2O3 NPs at all conditions. (c) 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Effect of ellagic acid on some haematological, immunological and antioxidant parameters of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

    Yonar, S. Mise; Yonar, M. E.; Yöntürk, Y.; Pala, A.

In this study, effect of ellagic acid on some haematological, immunological and antioxidant parameters in the blood and various tissues of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were examined. Four groups of rainbow trout were fed experimental diets containing either no ellagic acid (control) or supplemented with ellagic acid at 50mg/kg diet (EA-50), 100mg/kg diet (EA-100) or 150mg/kg diet (EA-150) for 21days. Samples of the blood and tissue (liver, kidney and spleen) were collected at the end of the experiment and analysed for their haematological profile (the red blood cell count, the haemoglobin concentration and the haematocrit level), immune response (the white blood cell count, the oxidative radical production (NBT activity), the total plasma protein and total immunoglobulin level) and oxidant/antioxidant status (the malondialdehyde level, the superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase activity as well as the reduced glutathione concentration). The findings of this study demonstrated that ellagic acid had a positive effect on the haematological parameters, the immune response and the antioxidant enzyme activities of the fish.

Organoleptic and Chemical Changes during Storage of Sea Bass Marinades (Dicentrarchus labraxL., 1758)

    Kaya, Gulderen Kurt; Bastürk, Ozden

Chemical and organoleptic changes in sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) preserved at 4C for 200 days have been investigated in this study. To prepare the fish fillets for study, they were put, at a ratio of 1:1.5 (fish:marinade brine), for marination into the brine containing 11% salt and 3.5% acetic acid. After the maturation process, samples were divided into two groups and packed in sealed plastic containers as plain and sauced and preserved for 200 days. At both groups packed as plain and sauced, TVB-N, TBA, TMA-N and peroxide number values were at acceptable limits during the storage of 200 days. It can be determined that both of the groups were approved in organoleptic terms; however, the sea bass marinades packed as plain were better approved. Our study shows that sea bass marinades packed as plain and sauced can be stored for 200 days without any quality problems. Practical Applications As the processed products are easy to store and bring a large margin of profit and always ready for the market, developing new products will contribute greatly to the aquaculture processing sector. Marinade processing technology is one of the cheapest technologies in aquaculture products processing and preservation methods, and it is very important in that it enriches the taste of fish, adds flavor and provides a longer shelf life. In the Mediterranean countries, sea bass ranks first in saltwater aquaculture and is among the most important aquaculture products. However; making use of the fish, especially which could not be sold or are undersold in the yield period, with the help of alternative processing methods can contribute to producers, the fisheries processing sector and the national economy. It was determined that sea bass marinades packed as plain and sauced can be stored for 200 days and can still retain their quality.

The effect of dietary n-3 series fatty acids on the number of pleopadal egg and stage 1 juvenile in freshwater crayfish, Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz

Harlioglu, Muzaffer Mustafa; Çakmak, Mehmet Nuri; Köprücü, Kenan; Aksu, Onder; Harlioglu, Ayse Gul; Yonar, Serpil Mise; Duran, Tuba Cakmak; Özcan, Sinan; Gündogdu, Hande

The effect of dietary n-3 series fatty acids on the number of pleopadal egg and stage 1 juvenile in freshwater crayfish, Astacus leptodactylus was investigated. Crayfish were fed with n-3 series fatty acids supplemented diets and a control diet for 251days. Control diet did not comprise additional n-3 series fatty acids. However, D2, D3 and D4 groups were supplemented with n-3 series fatty acids at 1%, 2% and 3% level respectively. Results showed the beneficial effects of dietary n-3 series fatty acids on the production of pleopodal egg and stage 1 juvenile number. At the end of the experiment, pleopodal egg (from 177 to 234) and stage 1 juvenile number (from 167 to 225) increased significantly with increased dietary n-3 series fatty acid level. In addition, an increase in dietary n-3 series fatty acids led to an increase in number of pleopodal egg and stage 1 juvenile produced per gram of female crayfish weight. It can be concluded that the reproductive efficiency of A. leptodactylus (i.e., pleopodal egg and stage 1 juvenile number) can be improved in controlled hatchery conditions by adding n-3 series fatty acid into the diet of this species.

The Effect of Different Feeding Protocols on Compensatory Growth of Black Sea Trout Salmo trutta labrax

Kocabas, Mehmet; Basçinar, Nadir; Kayim, Murathan; Er, Halil; Sahin, Halit

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of different feeding protocols on compensatory growth, feeding rate, and feed conversion efficiency of Black Sea Trout Salmo trutta labrax. To our knowledge, no previous feeding experiments with Black Sea Trout have incorporated a fasting period to simulate the handling and acclimation conditions experienced by farmed fish. Fifteen fish per tank (10.69 +/- 0.06cm and 13.22 +/- 0.14g, mean +/- SE) were stocked into 40-L fiberglass tanks. Fish were fed with different fasting-feeding regimes for 95 d and were equally allotted to four treatments (T-cont: control; T5-10: 5 d fasting, 10days feeding; T10-10: 10 d fasting, 10 d feeding; and T15-10: 15 d fasting, 10 d feeding) with three replicates per treatment. The results indicated that length (P = 0.0005), weight (P = 0.000), condition factor (P = 0.013), and specific growth rate (P = 0.014) were significantly affected by the interaction between feeding and time. All fasting treatments showed partial compensation during refeeding. There was an increase in daily feeding rate and feed conversion efficiency in fasting treatments compared with the control treatment. In contrast, at the end of the experiment specific growth rate, condition factor, and body weight in fasting treatments were significantly lower compared with the control treatment. We concluded that there was partial compensation of growth with regular refeeding after periods of feed deprivation (e.g., 5, 10, or 15 d) over a long term and a shorter fasting period may be preferred in order to achieve compensatory growth. Fractionation of Ni, Cr and Cu from Soil by Sequential Extraction Procedure and Determination by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry

Akkus, Sukran; Bal, Tulin; Karaaslan, Nagihan M.; Yaman, Emre; Kilinc, Ersin; Yaman, Mehmet

Five-step sequential extractions were employed to fractionation of Ni, Cr and Cu in soil polluted by anthropogenic activities and determine the mobility of the metals. Twelve samples were collected on an agricultural area that was located near an airport and intercity roads in Elazig-Turkey. Exchangeable, organically bounded, carbonate bounded, adsorbed species on Fe and Mn oxides and residual species (except silicates) of Ni, Cr and Cu were extracted into solution by using CaCl2, Na4P2O7, Na(2)EDTA, NH2OH-HCl and HNO3-H2O2, respectively. Mobile metal concentrations in fractions and total recoverable in soils were determined by using inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Total recoverable Ni, Cr and Cu concentrations were in the range of 40-119, 45-126 and 23-72mgkg(-1), respectively. It was observed that total concentrations of metals in some of the samples were higher than the permitted values. The sum of the mobile percentages of metals was found to be lower than 50%. The Ni, Cr and Cu percentages for exchangeable species are in the ranges of 0.18-1.64, 0.03-0.59 and 0.42-2.53%, respectively.

Compensatory growth response of European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax L.) under cycled starvation and restricted feeding rate

Türkmen, Serhat; Eroldogan, Orhan Tufan; Yilmaz, Hatice Asuman; Ölçülü, Abdullatif; Inan, Gul Ayten Kiris; Erçen, Zeynep; Tekelioglu, Nazmi

The compensatory growth response of the European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) that faced cycling starvation and restricted ration was assessed. Juveniles (10.5g) were stocked into 15 tanks at a density of 25 fish per tank. Five different feeding regimes were tested on triplicate groups of fish: CSatiation: control fed for 60days without deprivation, CRestricted: 25% restricted feeding, S-R: 1day starvation then 4days CRestricted feeding, R-F: 1day CRestricted feeding then 4days CSatiation feeding, and, finally, S-F: 1day starvation then 4days CSatiation feeding. The specific growth rate of fish in the CSatiation (2.5 +/- 0.06%day-1), S-F (2.5 +/- 0.11%day-1) and R-F (2.4 +/- 0.18%day-1) were significantly higher than that of CRestricted (2.2 +/- 0.05%day-1) or S-R (2.0 +/- 0.01%day-1). Fish in S-F group were able to achieve catching up with the CSatiation. There was no significant difference in feed conversion rates but R-F and S-F consumed approximately 34% more feed than CSatiation following the first re-feeding day. Although, the highest lipid content was observed in CSatiation (14.4%), S-R (33.3% dry matter) had the highest water content compared with the CSatiation and CRestricted (37.8% and 36.9% dry matter respectively). In conclusion, it may be concluded that sea bass has rapid response to cycling starvation/re-feeding and that a 25% restricted feeding ratio is insufficient to invoke a compensatory growth response in sea bass.

Automatic classification of power quality events and disturbances using wavelet transform and support vector machines

    Eristi, H.; Demir, Y.

In this study, a new approach for the classification of power quality events is presented. Also, power quality disturbances, which occur in each phase of the power system after a fault event, are classified with the proposed system. In the proposed recognition system, three-phase voltage signals are used in order to identify the type of power quality events. Three-phase voltage signals are subjected to normalisation and segmentation processes. A wavelet transform method is used in order to obtain the distinctive features of event signals. An efficient feature vector, which represents the distinctive characteristics of three-phase event voltage signals and reduces data size, is extracted by applying the two-stage feature extraction process. Power quality event types are determined by using a support vector machine classifier. At the last stage of intelligent recognition system, types of power quality disturbances regarding each fault event are identified by doing a further analysis. Real power system data are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed approach. According to the obtained results, proposed intelligent recognition system classifies power quality event types with a high accuracy. The analyses and results also show that the proposed approach is efficient, reliable and applicable.

The effect of adrenomedullin and cold stress on interleukin-6 levels in some rat tissues

    Yildirim, N. C.; Yurekli, M.

P>Stress known to stimulate sympathetic activity, as well as the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA), produces a significant increase in adrenomedullin (AdM) levels, suggesting a regulatory or protective role for AdM in countering HPA activation that follows a variety of stressors. Stressors can modulate the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines. Interleukin (IL)-6 is a potent activator of the HPA and appears to play a pathogenic role in conditions related to stress. In the present study, we investigated the administration of AdM on IL-6 levels in cold exposed rats. Male Wistar rats were divided into four groups as control, adrenomedullin treatment, cold stress and cold stress+adrenomedullin-treated groups. In the adrenomedullin-treated group, animals received intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of adrenomedullin (2000 ng/kg body weight) once a day for a week. For the cold stress exposure the rats were kept in separate cages at 10 degrees C for a week. Control group rats were kept in laboratory conditions. The concentration of IL-6 was determined using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit. When compared to control, IL-6 levels increased significantly in the cold stress- and adrenomedullin-treated groups (P < 0 center dot 05). Administration of AdM in addition to cold stress decreased IL-6 levels in lung and liver, but increased in brain and heart when compared to control (P < 0 center dot 05). The results suggest that cold stress may induce increase of rat proinflammatory cytokine IL-6 and adrenomedullin may play a regulatory or protective role for cold stress.
