- MakaleYalnız künye2022Scopus SJRQ1Graphene-reinforced novel poly(acetoxystyrene-co-glycidylmethacrylate) composites: Synthesis and optimization of dielectric behaviors using response surface methodology
Pihtili, Güzin
In this work, a new copolymer synthesis of Poly(acetoxystyrene-co-glycidylmethacrylate) (P[AOS-co-GMA]) by free radical polymerization (FRP) method is reported. The polymer composites (P[AOS-co-GMA]/graphene), containing different amounts of graphene, were prepared by the solution casting technique. Composites of Poly(acetoxystyrene-co-glycidylmethacrylate) loaded with 2.03 mass%, 5.00 mass%, 7.97 mass%, and 10 mass% graphene. The structure of AOS-GMA systems was characterized by fourier transform infrared, 1H-NMR and scanning electron microscopy. Thermal features were evaluated by the thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. The aim of this study is to optimize the ε′ (dielectric constant) and ε′′ (dielectric loss factor) of pure polymer and graphene-doped (2.03-5-7.97-10 mass%) P(AOS-co-GMA) composite using response surface methodology. For optimization of the process and creation of the mathematical model, the central composite design package was used. The significance of the process parameters in the model was evaluated by analysis of variance (ANOVA) research. The effects of process parameters, frequency (Hz), voltage (V), and graphene ratio (mass%) on ε′ and ε′′ were examined at ambient temperature. The maximum ε″ value (8.01) was reached at around the 699 Hz frequency and at 11.43 V voltage at the graphene content of 9.82 mass%. The model estimated the maximum value of the ε′′ (0.08) when the frequency was set at 51.20, the voltage was fixed at 1.16 and the graphene content was fixed at 9.97 wt%. The ANOVA results showed that frequency and graphene content were the main model parameters and had a remarkable effect on the dielectric properties. This article presents the development of a new polymeric composite and optimize effect of process parameters, such as frequency (A), voltage (B) and amount of graphene (C).

Bulut, Arzu; Sengul, Halil; Uslu, Yeter Demir; Bas, Kazim; Tosun, Nurperihan
BACKGROUND/AIM: The COVID-19 pandemic has created a long period of stress for people worldwide and has significantly affected sleep duration. The pandemic revealed new stress factors that are likely to affect sleep. Uncertainty is a factor that leads to anxiety and depression, which affects sleep. It should also be noted that reductions in sleep quality rather than sleep duration are associated with negative consequences on mental health. This study aims to investigate online that how this situation affected university students. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This research, with a descriptive study design, was conducted in Turkey between June 01, 2021 and July 30, 2021. The sample included 604 people who accepted voluntary participation, chosen by the random selection method. In the study, sociodemographic information form, Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), morningness-eveningness questionnaire scale (MEQ Scale), Beck depression inventory (BDI), and Beck anxiety inventory (BAI) were used as data collection tools. Pearson correlation analysis was utilized to examine the relationship between the scales. Multiple regression analysis was performed to investigate the role of morningness-eveningness, anxiety, depression, and insomnia severity on sleep quality. RESULTS: Sleep quality was negatively correlated with morningness-eveningness scores (r = -0.32, P < 0.01), and positively and significantly related with anxiety (r = 0.43, P < 0.01), depression (r = 0.40, P < 0.01) and insomnia severity (r = 0.55, P < 0.01). According to regression coefficients, while anxiety (β = 0.041, P < 0.001) and insomnia severity scores (β = 0.226, P < 0.001) positively predicted sleep quality, depression did not predict it significantly (β = 0.009, P > 0.05). A significant difference was found in sleep quality according to morning, evening, and intermediate types (F = 27.401, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Events related to the COVID-19 pandemic are associated with reduced sleep quality in connection with increasing negative moods. Considering the importance of sleep for a healthy life, efforts should be made to raise awareness about this issue and to provide psychological help to affected individuals.

This study was to evaluate the BHA and basil essential oil on the quality attributes of deep-fried sardine fillets and frying oil. The extent of lipid oxidation was monitored by measuring peroxide value (PV), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), TBA, and changes in free fatty acids. Sensory analysis and color values upon the frying period were also determined. PV, FFA, TBA, and TBARS values in fish fillets and frying oil have peaked and then decreased at the end of frying except for the control. BEO showed the highest sensory scores compared to others. As a result, it is not possible to make a clear judgment about the effect of the natural or synthetic antioxidants on all lipid oxidation products that may occur during frying both fish fillets and frying oil. This study suggests that secondary oxidation products in frying oil and the sensorial quality of fish fillets can be better controlled by using basil essential oil.

Aktağ, Işıl Gürsul; Hamzalıoğlu, Aytül; Kocadağlı, Tolgahan; Gökmen, Vural
The amount of acrylamide in asparagine rich thermally processed foods has been broadly monitored over the past two decades. Acrylamide exposure can be estimated by using the concentration of acrylamide found in foods and alternatively, biomarkers of exposure are correlated. A better estimation of dietary acrylamide exposure is crucial for a proper food safety assessment, regulations, and public health research. This review addresses the importance of the presence of neglected Maillard reaction intermediates found in foods, that may convert into acrylamide during digestion and the fate of acrylamide in the gastrointestinal tract as a reactive compound. Therefore, it is questioned in this review whether acrylamide concentration in ingested foods is directly correlated with the dietary exposure to acrylamide.

- MakaleYalnız künye2022Scopus SJRQ1Performance evaluation of Turkish Universities by an integrated Bayesian BWM-TOPSIS model
Gul, Muhammet; Yucesan, Melih
This study aims to develop a university ranking model with the aid of performance measures in the “University monitoring and evaluation reports-2019” published by the Council of Higher Education Institution in Turkey. In this context, some of the performance criteria stated in these reports are filtered and 34 sub-criteria under five main criteria are weighted using the Bayesian Best-Worst Method (BBWM). Then, 189 listed public and private universities are ranked using the TOPSIS multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) method. We have adopted the MCDM concept because many evaluation criteria/sub-criteria and alternative universities are taken into account. For this study, we apply an integrated MCDM model. First, we use BBWM to accomplish the first goal and adopt the TOPSIS method for the second purpose, using the BBWM results. Our purpose in using BBWM is due to its probabilistic structure that reduces the loss of information when handling group decisions. In this context, the evaluations of 11 academic experts are combined and a solid weighting is made by obtaining the credal rankings of performance criteria. Using TOPSIS is its logic of proximity to ideal and the ability to evaluate many alternatives. In the context of the study, state-private university-based, nomenclature of territorial units for statistics-2 (NUTS-2)-based and classical geographical regions-based rankings are also discussed. The study seeks to help universities optimize their performance efficiently. The results of the study can be adapted as a reference for other educational institutions and public institutions in their efforts to evaluate, improve their performance and form various policies.

In this study, fatty acids, fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K vitamins) and cholesterol contents of wild-caught and farm-raised rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were compared. The amounts of docosahexaenoic acid (22:6 n-3, DHA) in wild and farmed forms were 21.56%–18.14%, 18.79%–16.21% and 14.34%–11.49% in April, May and June, respectively. Vitamin E, which is one of the fat-soluble and antioxidant vitamins, showed highest level among the vitamins. Vitamin E levels in both wild and farmed fish were 5.11–4.26, 4.83–2.89 and 0.99–1.95 mg/100 g in April, May and June, respectively. The substantial difference between wild and farmed rainbow trout was found in May (p < 0.05). In conclusion, both wild and farmed rainbow trout from Keban Dam Lake (Pertek Region) can be considered as good sources of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). However, it was observed that the n-3 PUFA level in wild form was higher than the culture fish within the investigated monthly periods. On the other hand, farmed fish demonstrated higher levels of n-6 PUFA over the wild individuals.

Pekdemir, Mustafa Ersin; Tanyol, Mehtap; Torğut, Gülben
In this study, poly (ε-caprolactone)/Fe3O4 magnetic nanocomposite (PCL/Fe3O4 MNC) was synthesized by ring-opening polymerization. Then, PCL/Fe3O4 MNC was used as a novel adsorbent to remove remazol brilliant violet 5R (RBV 5R) from the aqueous media. The effects of PCL/Fe3O4 MNC dosage, process time, and initial RBV 5R concentration on the removal of RBV 5R were studied using the central composite design (CCD) method. The adsorption process was optimized using the response surface methodology, and the optimum conditions were defined. Optimum RBV 5R removal of 95.40% was obtained at a contact time of 167.98 min, PCL/Fe3O4 MNC dosage of 0.40 g, and RBV 5R concentration of 7.18 mg L−1. The process was also designed using the adsorption kinetic models and isotherm. The experimental data of RBV 5R adsorption on PCL/Fe3O4 MNC followed the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetic models than the other models. Morphological and chemical properties of the adsorbent-adsorbate system indicated the high adsorption yield of RBV 5R on PCL/Fe3O4 MNC was achieved. The structural characteristics of the PCL/Fe3O4 MNC were analyzed by Fourier-transform infrared, attenuated total-reflectance (ATR), and X-ray diffraction. ATR tests showed that no significant change in chemical bond is found in PCL/Fe3O4 MNC before and after the adsorption process. The morphology of composites was investigated by scanning electron microscopy. A vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) was used for the measurement of the magnetic property. Thermal analysis of MNC was studied using thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry instruments.

Gürler, Nedim; Torğut, Gülben
In this study, polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) and polylactic acid (PLA)-Graphene (G) nanocomposite films were synthesized by taking different concentrations of G via the solution casting process, and their structural, mechanical, opacity, thermal and dielectric properties were examined for the first time. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used for investigating surface morphology. Films containing graphene were more opaque than films without graphene. The incorporation of graphene into the polymer matrix improved the mechanical property. The tensile strengths of the control PHA/PLA film and the graphene-reinforced 1 %G-PHA/PLA nanocomposite films were 18.98 and 24.34 MPa, respectively. Thermogravimetric analysis results showed that PHA/PLA−G nanocomposites had good thermal stability below 300 °C. Considering the dielectric measurements, it is seen that the dielectric constant (έ) and dielectric loss (ϵ”) decreased with increasing frequency and less changed at higher frequencies. The developer feature of graphene is remarkable in both parameters. The electrical conductivity of PHA/PLA−G nanocomposites was also examined as a function of frequency at room temperature. As the amount of G increased from 1 %wt to 5 %wt, the conductivity of the composites increased.

- MakaleYalnız künye2021A Maturity Model for Assessing Sustainable Project Management Knowledge Areas: A Case Study Within A Logistics Firm
Göçmen, Elifcan
Currently, the use of maturity models is widespread for evaluating the success of project management (PM) processes. Project management maturity models (PMMM) are valuable methodologies to improve the project management processes. In this context, this present paper seeks an answer to these questions: Which maturity levels are aimed for an organization to make the sustainable PM sound? Which propositions are made based on the obtained maturity levels? This paper aims to propose a PMMM by analysing PM knowledge areas. In response to this objective, nine dimensions and twenty seven maturity items are handled using of PM Solutions’ PMMM. In order to evaluate the maturity levels, Weighted Maturity Score Calculation Model (WMSC) approach based on survey questionnaires of two experts is used first for the PM knowledge areas. Weighted average score of all maturity items is obtained using Likert-scale and criteria weights are first calculated using Hesitant Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (HF-AHP). Practicality of these approaches is illustrated through a real data in a logistics organization. As a result, computational results indicate that risk management dimension with the level 1,4 has the lowest rating of all nine dimensions. The high maturity level 3,5 is observed in the quality management, as the maturity items in this dimension such as Quality Plan Preparation and Quality Plan Employment can have a favourable impact on the PM maturity. The findings reveal the effectiveness of the proposed method, which ensures practical and theoretical insights for organizations to determine their current and expected sustainable project maturity levels.

İncele - MakaleAçık Erişim2021Experimental Analysis of PV/T Collectors Assisted with PCM for Off-Grid Domestic Applications
Bayrak, Fatih; Oztop, Hakan; Bakır, Eda
An experimental study was carried out to examine the efficiency of solar energy in photovoltaic thermal collectors (PV/T) with energy storage. A photovoltaic thermal collector was used to generate both electrical energy and hot water. The effects of inclination angle of PV/T collectors on power, temperature, energy and exergy values were investigated. Also, effects of cellular shading are tested and discussed. PV/T was compared with the conventional PV/T collector by adding phase change material (PCM) for one of the collectors. In addition, the effect of different shading conditions (small, medium and large circle) on the power and hot water output of the PV/T collector at optimum slope angle were investigated. It is found that 7 ºC temperature differences are occurred in the hot water outlet between the PV/T collector and the PV/T-PCM collector. The highest energy efficiencies of PV/T-PCM collectors are obtained as 73.26%, 84.70% and 68.96% for slope angle 25º, 30º and 35º, respectively. The highest exergy efficiencies of shaded collectors are obtained as 11.92% for PV/T and 23.38% for PV/T-PCM.

Wastewater discharge from textile industries concern environmental risks. Superiority of microbial methods over other high cost combined methods includes conversion of persistent organic materials to non-toxic last materials, sustainability, low cost, and comfortable. Textile wastewaters can have opposite effects on the quality of water in total organic carbon (TOC) and Chemical oxygen demand (COD). Agitation cultures can reach the surface area of the dyes, whereas a static cannot do. Biotreatment of textile wastewater from the dyeing process using white-rot fungus Phanerochaete chrysosporium (P.C) was investigated in agitated and static culture conditions. Dye is the major pollutant component in this wastewater includes some different organic pollutants. The treatment mediums containing distilled water in 1:10 ratio of wastewater were compared for treatment efficiency of P.C. Especially in agitated conditions at 27 oC and 150 rpm, it was achieved a successful treatment results. Under these conditions, a 48h long treatment reduced by 91,46 % of the original COD (from 1484 mg l-1) and by 94,92% the TOC (initial was 723.66 mg l-1). Moreover, treatment reduced color by 86,28 % from 3.550 A540 to 0.487 A540 at the end of the study. The decolorization properties of P.C obtained high performance and we determined P.C showed up to effective removal rate for COD and TOC within 48 hours. We suggest that these fungus pellets of P.C can reach the decolorization and can be a useful tool for bioremediation of textile dye wastewater within a short time period.

The basic purpose of this paper is to investigate and propose a novel inter-story drift limits for the currentTurkish Seismic Code to get easy structural assessment by using software. For this aim, numerical analysiswas performed by modeling two types of RC frame structures. One of them is 5 stories, the other of them is7 stories. Two different concrete classes, C20 and C25, were considered and three tension reinforcementratios were considered for analysis. Tension reinforcement ratios were determined by half of the compressivereinforcement, equal to compressive reinforcement and double the compressive reinforcement ratio.Incremental dynamic analyses (IDA) were performed on these buildings. In this study to execute IDA, elevenseismic acceleration benchmark records were multiplied with various scaling factors from 0.2 to 1.0.Maximum base shear and corresponding roof displacement responses obtained from IDA curves weregenerated according to these responses. IDA curves were compared with each other by deriving fragilitygraphs. According to results, proposed limits for the current Turkish seismic code (TBEC-2018) provide,0.6%, 2.4% and 3.3% respectively for MN, GV and GC, rather safe limits compared to drift limits presentedin the foredate seismic code (TSC-2007).

Yilmaz, Deniz
Uzunçayır water retention Dam is located in the Tunceli province. This semi-arid mountainous region ineastern Turkey is prone to erosion. To combat this phenomenon, terraces along the edge of the MunzurUniversity campus were built on sloping ground with pine plantations. The objective is twofold, on theone hand to mitigate soil erosion and protect the dam from sediments deposits, and on the other hand topromote the infiltration of rainwater and the vegetation of the sloping soil. However, the so-called ecofunctions of the terraces over the time are not proven. Monitoring the infiltration capacities of the terracesover time and space will allow a better understanding of their contribution to the hydrology of thewatershed and their effect on soil erosion. The Beerkan infiltration technique offers simple andinexpensive experimental protocols. In addition, treatment methods are constantly improving. Morerecently, the four-term expansion of the implicit Haverkamp cumulative infiltration equation has beenproposed. This complicated but robust formulation was used in this study to estimate the soil sorptivity Sand saturated hydraulic conductivity Ks of terrace soil at Tunceli. The average Ks value of studied site wasestimated to be 0.0852 mm/s with a standard deviation of 0.0112 mm/s. The soil sorptivity values weremore extensive with mean value of 2.1227 mm/s0.5 and a standard deviation of 0.5855 mm/s0.5. The fit ofthe model used was perfect, showing that fast and robust estimation of S and Ks are possible using thenew model.
- MakaleAçık Erişim2021Ditransitive Constructions in Zaza Language
Arslan, Ilyas
Languages group verbs in different ways. Because of the ergative feature of Zazaki, it plays a big role whether the verbs are transitive or intransitive. Zaza Language introduces some pronouns to distinguish double-transitive verbs from transitive and intransitive verbs. In some linguistic works, the terms transitive and ergative are used synonymously. This article aims to scrutinize ditransitive constructions in the Zaza language, which has some interesting syntactic elements in these structures. They are mostly pronouns in combination with directions. Several pronouns replace indirect object. On the one hand, the goal of this study is to find out the functions of these pronouns. The semantic content of these pronouns decides which pronouns may appear in a specific position. They can appear with or without directions. Only the pronouns such as cı can alone replace a NP, the other ones need a direction for this replacing. On the other hand, this study discusses the morphosyntactic and semantic realizations in ditransitive constructions. While these pronouns do not syntactically follow the same word order, they can semantically be classified into two groups.

Dogan, Pelin
This study investigates the contribution of the sense of the uncanny to the intensification of mystery in EdgarAllan Poe’s short story titled “Morella” using Freudian ideas as a backcloth. This paper aims to look at howPoe makes use of the psychodynamics of the characters at the intersection of the (m)other, death and theuncanny. In this sense, typical of Poesque literature is that his work is marked by tales of horror, mystery, themacabre, and morbid imagery; the sense of the uncanny is an indispensable part of a plotline which includessemantic loopholes and narrative ruptures. The unnamed male narrator of the story offers a retrospectiveaccount of his past memories from his marriage to Morella up to the death of his daughter, which reveals thatthis unreliable narrator suffers from a psychic regression by establishing intrasubjectivity with his wife. UsingFreudian epistemology, this paper will also discuss the ways in which how the mysterious bond establishedbetween this couple generates its uncanny effect. Such a reading of the short story is especially useful becausealthough much has been written on Poe’s representation of women and death, this paper aims to open up adiscursive space to discuss the operations of the psychodynamics of characters within the framework of theFreudian uncanny, which has not received adequate scholarly attention from psychoanalytic circles.
